Novelist, Poet, Editor

Cascais, Portugal

About Me

I’m a novelist and essayist drawn to the quiet revolutions inside ordinary life. I’m interested in reinvention, exile, and the moral imagination of women: how identity bends and reforms under love, power, place, and time. I write toward the moments that blur intellect and feeling, art and life.

Originally from Chicago, I now live by the sea in Cascais, Portugal. My background in literature informs both my fiction and my editorial work, where I help other writers refine the emotional and structural architecture of their stories.

If you’re here, you probably believe—as I do—that language can remake a life from the inside out. Bem-vindo, welcome.

Background

I hold a BA in English Literature and Theatre from Saint Mary’s College (Notre Dame, IN) and a master’s in Women, Writing & Gender from the University of St Andrews (Scotland, UK). I’ve trained in workshops at Poets House and Sackett Street, and my work has been published in poetry, humor, and literary journals.

What Guides Me

I write toward clarity, but also toward the contradictions that make us human. My aim isn’t to resolve them neatly, but to let readers see themselves inside the fractures—and imagine other ways through.
